Elana Zeide is a PULSE Fellow in Artificial Intelligence, Law, and Policy at UCLA School of Law. Her scholarship examines the data-driven technologies that shape our individual fates and collective values. Recent research focuses on digital profiles, virtual reputations, and predictive analytics in education and employment. She previously served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Seton Hall’s School of Law, a Visiting Fellow at Yale’s School of Law, a Microsoft Research Fellow at NYU’s Information Law Institute and an Associate Research Scholar at Princeton’s Center for Information Technology Policy. Zeide received her B.A. in American Studies (Yale) and her M.F.A. in Non-Fiction Writing (Columbia). After a career as a journalist in London and New York, Zeide earned a J.D. and LL.M (NYU). Before academia, Zeide worked as an attorney at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, a Legal Analyst at Bloomberg, and the principal of her own privacy/media law practice.
