Emy Tseng is a Senior Broadband Program Specialist with the National Telecommunications Information Administration (NTIA) at the Department of Commerce. She provide technical assistance on digital inclusion and smart communities. Her work focuses on expanding broadband access, adoption and digital skills in underserved communities in the U.S.
Previously, Emy was the Digital Inclusion Director for the City and County of San Francisco where she developed one of the first local government-led digital inclusion initiatives and served on the California Broadband Task Force. She also worked in philanthropy and as a software engineer.
Ms. Tseng holds a M.Sc. degree in Technology and Policy from MIT, and a B.Sc. degree in Math/Physics from Brown University. She was a fellow of the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University. In 2017, Ms. Tseng was awarded the Charles Benton Digital Equity Champion Award for her longstanding work on digital inclusion.
