I'm a sociologist who studies how participatory media perpetuates systems of inequality. As a postdoctoral scholar at Data & Society, I conducted an ethnographic project on how conservatives search for truth in the contemporary news environment. Next fall I will join the Sociology & Anthropology Department at James Madison University as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Sociology. I received my PhD from the University of Virginia where I was also a Digital Humanities Fellow at the Scholar’s Lab.
