Isabel Skierka is a research analyst at the Digital Society Institute at ESMT Berlin. She is also pursuing a PhD at the Ragnar Nurkse Department of Innovation and Governance at Tallinn University of Technology in Estonia. Isabel is working on projects focusing on cybersecurity in Germany and Europe, e-governance (specifically, trustworthy e-identity management), and safety and security in the Internet of Things.

Isabel Skierka is also non-resident fellow with the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin and serves as a co-chair of the Internet Governance Forum Germany’s steering committee.

Prior to joining the ESMT, Isabel gathered work experience at GPPi, NATO, the European Commission, and the Free University of Berlin's Institute of Computer Science. Isabel holds a master’s degree from the War Studies Department of King’s College London and a bachelor’s degree in European studies from Maastricht University, including a stay at Sciences Po in Paris.
