Divya Ramjee is a doctoral candidate and adjunct professor at American University in Washington, D.C., in the Department of Justice, Law & Criminology. Her research interests include cybercrime and intellectual property crime, biotechnology, and the application of machine learning methods in the field of criminology. Ramjee is also currently working as a researcher for the COVID-19 Dispersed Volunteer Research Network (COVID-19 DVRN), using computational methods to address various pandemic-related issues. Her background additionally includes working in the Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section in the U.S. Department of Justice as well as conducting infectious disease research, biotechnology research, and pandemic policy development at other federal agencies and academic institutions. She holds an MS in Biotechnology (Biodefense concentration) from the Johns Hopkins University and BS’ in Microbiology and Neuroscience from the Ohio State University.
