Cynthia Overton, Ph.D., is a principal researcher with American Institutes for Research (AIR) and founder of InclusionClearinghouse.org. Her work involves diversity and inclusion in technology, disability policy, knowledge translation, accessible technology. She has collaborated with the National Council on Disability to write its 2014, 2015, and 2016 progress reports to the White House and Congress; served as Co-PD for the Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center, which communicates research to people with disabilities; and served as an evaluator for the Office of Disability Employment Policy’s State Exchange on Employment and Disability. Dr. Overton’s expertise in disability dates back to her doctoral studies on how college students with disabilities use technology to engage with their learning environments. She holds a Ph.D. and M.S. from the University of Michigan, an M.P.S. in PR/communications from Georgetown University, and a B.A. in English from Hampton University.
