Rose Jackson

Rose Jackson is the CEO of RiseUP, a U.S.-based civic tech platform that helps people find and connect to local political and civic action that matches their skills and interests. Jackson previously served as the chief of staff to the State Department's bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, where she oversaw a number of technology related efforts, including policy and programs related to: internet freedom; artificial intelligence and automation in weapons systems; and technology for human rights documentation and investigation. Prior to the State Department Jackson worked with civil society, political parties, and parliaments in a number of sub-saharan African countries, using creative technology platforms to help people organize and governments to be more responsive.
