As a tech policy and regulation specialist, I research, write, publish, and speak extensively on internet laws and policies, most specifically those that affect the crafts of web design and development. Currently working as a Policy Fellow at COADEC, the UK's tech policy body for startups, I help to ensure that the voices of tech startups and scaleups are heard in the shaping of the legislation which will impact them. I also consult to policymakers, lawyers, and software development communities on the intersection between law and code.
I have a focus on Brexit and its impact on the UK's tech sector, as it is withdrawn from the Digital Single Market framework as well as the freedoms of movement and employment which helped to create it.
I am a longstanding speaker and writer on privacy, a contributor to several open source privacy teams, have delivered dozens of privacy talks in eight countries, and am the author of a forthcoming book on privacy for web professionals.
