Lisa A. Hayes is Vice President, Strategy & General Counsel at the Center for Democracy & Technology, working to champion individual rights and liberties in the digital age. Lisa leads CDT’s litigation practice, which focuses on educating courts about issues where technological advances are outpacing the law, such as issues involving privacy & data, security & surveillance, and free expression online. She also works to ensure access to the internet and protect net neutrality. Earlier in her career, Lisa was a litigation partner in a Seattle law firm and general counsel to a start-up company during the 1990s internet boom.
