Katie often speaks on the topics of teaching in tech, accessibility, and writing. She has been published under O'Reilly and Pearson (The Accessibility Handbook and Teach Yourself Python in 24 Hours, respectively). She also contributed to the book Women in Tech, writing about the complicated nature of being a parent within the tech community. She also spends a fair amount of time creating teaching material to help beginners get started with coding, both in person and on your YouTube channel.
She lives just outside of DC with her husband, two kids, and two poorly behaved dogs.
